chased winner, ridden over 1f out, soon beaten
made all, clear 3f out, shaken up briefly inside final furlong, easily
Conquest is confidently selected ahead of Castano. Willie Haggas' charge has been one of the talking horses on the gallops and he did not do too much wrong when narrowly failing in the Windsor Castle Stakes. A reproduction of that form should be too good for the remainder. Castano was well supoported prior to his debut at the track in April. The market is watched to see if there is any confidence after a sizeable lay-off. Express Willy has already had the unkindest cut of all although he does have a sprint-led pedigree as a close relative to Almaty Express. Lady Saffron might just need this on pedigree and is one to watch with the future in mind. Conquest appears to have all the ticks in the boxes and is accordingly selected.
