With the stable firing the portents look good for WALVIS BAY, who can make the most of a high draw to take this competitive sprint from Sunraider and Deacon Blues. The last-named is on the same mark as when going close at Doncaster and would prefer the ground to dry out to be seen to best effect. This is only his second start in this sphere and there is scope for plenty of improvement, so he is feared. Sunraider was not far away at Newmarket on his reappearance and looks to be racing over his optimum trip for now. He is in much the same mould as Deacon Blues, in that there is plenty of untapped potential and a win would be no surprise, though the low draw is not usually advantageous. Comedy Hall has taken a couple of runs to get going this time, but with a slipping mark he is not ruled out, while London Gold represents a trainer who has made a living out of preparing good sprinters and he should be checked out in the market on this, his handicap debut. Even so, marginal preference is for Walvis Bay. Tom Tate's three-year-old won a York maiden on good ground last October and ran well in a nursery the last time we saw him, a month later. He should know plenty more about the game now and with a positive draw to assist and the yard's good form another plus we will side with him.
