Verdict

QUATRO PIERJI has a 5lb pull for a six length defeat last time out by Pyracantha and can turn the tables today, while Montoya's Son can complete the frame. The selection already has a course and distance win to his name and is now 7lbs higher than that March success. Good or soft ground suits Jimmy Moffatt's six-year-old, and he looks to have plenty going for him in his bid to get back to winning ways. Pyracantha is far from ruled out despite meeting the selection on worse terms. Alan Swinbank's gelding has fewer miles on the clock and may not have stopped improving. He acts with cut in the ground and is very much respected. Montoya's Son carries the colours of Andrea and Graham Wylie, who do so well at this track. He is also lightly-raced and acts with cut, though he doesn't look the most trustworthy after two flops from three recent starts. Twentynineblack represents a yard that also does well with its raids here, though he has to show more enthusiasm than last time to be winning, while Quacity looks best of the remainder. Quatro Pierji gets the nod in the opener.
