SOUTH AFRICAN may be good enough to overcome a high draw and give weight away to the likes of Bishopbriggs and Not My Choice. The selection represents a shrewd yard that has a good record when employing the services of Paul Hanagan and it would be no surprise to see this daughter of Johannesburg gain her first success having played the bridesmaid on all three starts at Wolverhampton. Her initial mark of 65 looks fair with the winner of her reappearance outing not beaten far off 75 on his handicap bow and the market should guide. The market may also provide a useful pointer to the chances of Bishopbriggs who has won twice for this yard in just a handful of starts. He's unexposed on turf and may well have more to offer in this discipline. Not My Choice comes here in form, Mr Skipiton appears to be progressive in this grade and can be expected to show up well whilst Plumage's sole success came for this pilot and is another that merits consideration in a race that can go to South African.
