In depth

Verdict

An apprentice handicap to end the card and this will certainly test the punters. We have come down on the side of Voice Mail with Government and King's Account the likely dangers. Andrew Balding's charge reached a high of 70 in the official ratings last summer, but has been a shade disappointing over the winter. However the signs are there that he could be on the way back and off a mark of 55 he should be capable of going close. Government has been kept to the all-weather for quite some time, but has been running well. If transferring that ability to the turf he should be involved in the finish. King's Account is in good heart at present but would prefer the ground to dry out. If the sun shines he could play a major role. The top-weight Gizmondo looks the best of the others, but Voice Mail could be the pick of the weights this afternoon and he gets the vote.
