The form of Nickel Silver's debut run has been franked by the winner finishing second in the Woodcote Stakes since and so he gets the vote ahead of Mission Impossible and Timewatch amongst others. Bryan's Smart's Choisir colt ran a blinder first time up over course and distance and if he has learnt from that experience, he can win today. This quicker ground will suit and he looks worth a bet. Mission Impossible was expected to win at York having made a pleasing debut at Beverley, however he finished well beaten in fourth and didn't appear to improve for the step up to this trip. It would be folly to rule him out just yet though, and if the market speaks in his favour, take note. Russian Reel should have come on for his debut and must be respected, along with Timewatch. The latter steps up a furlong today which looks sure to suit and one should expect a better showing. newcomers Astrol and Hurstpierpoint should be watched in the betting for support, however Nickel Silver is taken to build on his promising debut and win here.
