      Verdict

Three newcomers catch the eye here, Sophie's Girl, Kashoof and Eva's Request and a narrow vote is given to the first named. We say narrow because the betting market will be all important in this contest. The selection though is from a yard in top form and is very nicely bred. She is related to some very speedy types and will no doubt know her job first time up. Eva's Request is an expensive daughter of Soviet Star and from a stable more than capable of getting one ready first time out. Meanwhile Kashoof has very good connections and if supported take note. The pick of the experienced runners should be Lowry's Art, but on this occasion we will step into the unknown and plump for Sophie's Girl.
