Verdict

Might Be Magic can do the trick for us here and get the better of Bauhaus Bourbon and Castlebury. The selection was well held on his only start on turf in a backend Newmarket maiden but impressed in two runs on the all-weather in February. The form is nothing to get excited about but that is reflected in his handicap mark and his trainer is sure to have left something to work on. This track and trip should suit and he can make the step up. Bauhaus Bourbon wasn't disgraced in a competitive Windsor handicap over a mile last time and, as a half-sister to Malt Or Mash, can be expected to improve for her first attempt at this longer trip. She's also entitled to come on for that run whilst the form of her maiden win has been franked by the runner-up and it will be disappointing if she can't make her presence felt. Castlebury is less certain to be suited by this longer trip but his yard is respected. He is progressing with racing which is always a plus point and was unfortunate to bump into a well handicapped rival last time. If he continues to head in the right direction then he could be a factor. King Kenny won impressively last time so rates a mention but that wasn't a strong contest and the winner of this race just Might Be Magic.
