Verdict
From a shortlist containing Jackie Kiely, Robbie Can Can, My Legal Eagle and Ruling Reef, we will side with Robbie Can Can. Rated just a pound above a winning Turf mark, due to go up three pounds in future ratings and coming here on the back of a good all-weather run, Jackie Kiely makes it onto the shortlist, while the lightly-raced Primondo could be yet be interesting starting life in handicaps on a fair mark. Robbie Can Can is on a winning mark and gets a favourable mention, while out-and-out stayer Aristi can't be ruled out on his best form of last year, Hugs Destiny holds a chance if anywhere near his best, and he ran pretty well at Catterick last time, and course and distance winner My Legal Eagle has more than enough form, including when second over course and distance on soft going last time, to get a very good mention today. Ruling Reef is now a pound below a winning mark of last season and could be interesting stepping up to today's trip for the first time and, much as he was a length ahead of Smoothie at Bath over ten furlongs last time, the latter was staying on and is proven at today's trip. Calfraz is another that could be interesting trying this trip on the Flat for the first time, and Cemgraft seems to reserve his best for the type of headgear that he has on today. As ever, look for clues from the betting but, without that we will opt for Robbie Can Can.
