A competitive opener to the card and the leading lights look to be Calloff The Search, Jack Rackham and Steady As A Rock with the vote given to the first mentioned. The selection caught the eye on his racecourse debut when he was a good third behind La Neige at Nottingham. He has a fair draw today and with nominal improvement he should take plenty of beating. Jack Rackham rates the main danger as he ran green on his debut when finishing third behind Stolt. He is sure to come on for the run but his yard have not yet found form and for that reason we will pass him over today. Steady As A Rock is a well-bred newcomer and this colt is entitled to plenty of respect, but his yard have also yet to hit top gear and he may be best watched on his racecourse debut. Avoncreek made a pleasing debut but has a poor draw today which will make life tough, and for the winner we will return to Calloff The Search.
