In depth

Verdict

MUSHTAQ cost 150,000 euros as a foal and changed hands for 210,000gns as a yearling. He began to repay some of that outlay when coming from well off the pace to score at Chelmsford in December and, though this will be his first run on Turf, he looks a nice prospect. Giovanni produced a pleasing first effort at Newmarket two weeks ago, despite running green, and will know more today. Eledeed is a half-brother to two winning milers and cost 75,000 gns as a yearling so should have a future, though has already been gelded.
