Unless any of the newcomers is anything special, it can pay to side with Alhaitham ahead of Multakka, with Hurricane Cat and Seabow best of the debutantes. Rob Roy won this last year, and with that in mind it could pay to follow this year's successful juvenile. That may well turn out to be Alhaitham, as John Dunlop's inmates do tend to improve markedly for a run or two, and there was a lot to like about the way this Racing Post entry made the useful Primary pull out all the stops on the second of his two outings over the course and distance at the start of the month. The fourth home, Papal Bull was narrowly beaten at Salisbury on Wednesday, but even so the form still has a solid look, and it will be disappointing if the son of Storm cat cannot build on his latest effort. Multakka shaped well in a hot Newbury contest won by Jeu de Mot and will be seen to better effect over further, given his Derby entry, while of the unraced animals, Hurricane Cat gets a predictable mention, coming as he does from the Ballydoyle production line. It would be no surprise if he were to prove out of the top draw. Seabow is yet another that has a date with Epsom next June if good enough, but our advice is to row in with Alhaitham
