Pinpoint can make the most of his draw next to the near rail to see off the challenge of Muzdaher, with Habanero and Notnowcato just two more in with a shout. These late season backend handicaps are normally a nightmare for punters, but hopefully this will not be too hard, as Pinpoint has conditions very much in his favour here. Walter Swinburn's three-year-old has mirrored the good form of the stable this season with a number of sterling efforts, and the form of his third behind dead-heaters Holiday Camp and All Ivory at Sandown last time has worked out well, with the latter going on to follow up in a better race here recently. The Sandown race was Pinpoint's handicap debut, and in the light of subsequent events, he does not look at all badly treated. He will not mind any further rain, and with a low draw, has solid claims. On a line through All Ivory, Muzdaher has to be respected greatly but is drawn wide in stall 17, so Richard Hills will have to be quick to get into a favourable position. Habanero has been one to follow throughout the summer but is creeping up the weights and might prefer faster going, while Notnowcato looks held by the two main protagonists on latest form but should not be overlooked entirely on earlier efforts. All in all though, Pinpoint looks the one to be on.
