        Verdict

        This looks a competitive handicap but Ambassadorial and ALFRED BOUCHER chased home the subsequent Royal Hunt Cup runner Montatham over track and trip earlier in the month and the latter will have benefited most from that run. Josephine Gordon can steer him back into the winner’s enclosure today ahead of Lingfield winner Lady Bowthorpe, who also has form over course and distance. Gin Palace made all at Newbury but is now on a career-high mark. None of the others can be completely ruled out, though only Petrus has had a recent run.
