A big field but not a hugely competitive race to go with it and Misaro is the one they all have to beat, while Roman Maze, Pearly Wey, Phantom Whisper and Swinbrook are all likely to be involved. Misaro was a very easy winner of a Class 4 handicap on the all weather at Kempton last time and shoulders a 6lb penalty here. A 7lb claim by Jamie Hamblett will help to offset that, he acts on a sound surface and even though this is a slight step up he looks capable of bridging the gap. Roman Maze would prefer it to be a road here tonight, but nevertheless he has chances and was not stopping in a similar handicap when runner up at Ascot last time. Pearly Wey won a Class 2 handicap at Folkestone before being anchored by a rise in the weights at Ascot when behind Roman Maze. A 2lb pull should not make much difference with that rival. Phantom Whisper is effective over both five and six furlongs, though he has never won at this trip. He goes on any ground but is 6lb higher than his highest winning mark and probably has frame claims at best. Swinbrook is dropping down to a more attractive mark now and is just 2lb higher than when last seen winning over this trip at Leicester over a year ago. He can go well, but Misaro is still in good nick and can step up to the mark again here.
