The form of Runswick Bay's Pontefract win has worked out really well and he looks capable of defying a 7lb rise in the weights to complete a hat-trick, with Dan Tucket, Elna Bright and Polygraph likely to fight out the minors. The selection won a soft ground Redcar maiden over this 7f trip before taking that Pontefract handicap on his debut in this sort of company. The manner of his win there on the stiff West Yorkshire track, plus the fact that the second and third have both won on their next outings mean that he is a confident choice. Dan Tucket is also 7lb higher than when taking a fast ground handicap over c&d last time and would probably want the ground to dry out to enhance his chance. Even so, he is respected. Elna Bright steps up to this trip after winning over 6f in maiden company at Brighton. Richard Hannon's filly has a progressive profile and the runner up that day at Brighton has also since won, but the nagging doubt is over whether she will last home against those with more stamina here. Polygraph put up a decent effort at Ascot last time and the step up in trip should be a big plus so he can be heavily involved, but Runswick Bay looked a tough cookie at Pontefract and can complete a hat-trick.
