A good start to the card and Al Qasi receives the recommendation ahead of Reverence and Appalachian Trail. The selection has got form around Ascot and while he was a little bit disappointing in the Golden Jubilee, any overnight rain would very much play to his strengths. Reverence is a high class performer and has to give weight all around. Eric Alston has made no secret of the fact that his targets are somewhat further down the line and it would be no surprise if the run is required on this occasion. Appalachian Trail is always a few points bigger than he should be as he hails from an unfashionable yard. Rain would also be in his favour. Ashdown Express has regressed with age and the percentage call is opposition. Assertive is progressive and is watched in the market. Baltic King ran a stormer last time out and the former handicapper now appears a viable proposition at this upper echelon. Drayton is still potentially unexposed in this country while Fonthill Road was not disgraced in the Chipchase. Sonny Red won with significant cut underfoot as a juvenile and is another to pay attention to in the market. Al Qasi looks to have plenty of things in his favour and secures the nod on this occasion.
