Verdict

The newcomers Parisian Art, Aqwaal and Pergamon are the ones to note with the vote going to the last named. The form on offer by the two horses with race experience is poor so we are forced to look at breeding and trainer statistics. Pergammon is trained by John Gosden who has arguably the best strike rate of first time out two year old winners in the race. The horse is ideally bred to say further in time but he is the one horse to stay on the right side of and is worth noting in the betting market. Parisian Art is blinkered on his debut which sends alarm bells ringing. Generally most horses would go without on their debuts but he must be a laid back individual so therefore could be one to treat with caution. Aqwaal maybe more reliable and is well bred but Ed Dunlop has struggled to find form this season. So for the winner we return to Pergamon.
