    Verdict

Pogo has won twice here but has a 3lb penalty for beating LANEQASH a nose in the Group 3 John Of Gaunt at Haydock so the runner-up, who was returning from a break, can reverse the form. Sunray Major, who was a close fourth, didn't enjoy the clearest of runs and was only beaten half-a-length so there looks little between the trio. The three-year-old Ever Given landed the Listed Surrey Stakes in great style at Epsom while Art Du Val shouldn't be inconvenienced by dropping back in trip having travelled easily for a long way when tackling a mile at York.
