Verdict

Gimcrack Stakes entry HAMMER HOME may be able to make his point here by getting the better of Enthusing and St Oswald amongst others. Brian Meehan's newcomers often need their initial experience so it's reasonable to hope that Hammer Home can improve significantly on his debut third at Doncaster and the 145,000 dollar purchase should make his mark as a juvenile. Enthusing went close on his debut at Windsor but the form doesn't appear to be anything out of the ordinary and he could be short enough as a result of that effort. St Oswald may need a stiffer test whilst Kingscroft will need to leave his debut form behind which is by no means inconceivable. As ever, support for one of the newcomers would be of interest with Ivan Vasilevich, as a half-brother to Al Qasi, probably of most interest but those with experience may have the edge on this occasion and Hammer Home may have his rivals covered.
