This looks a good opportunity for COLONEL MAK who gets our vote over Footstepsofspring and Blue Angel. The selection looks ready for this step up in grade after making light work of a Hamilton nursery last time out when he comfortably beat Ballodair. He looks a smart prospect as he travels well in his races and he does have a change of gear and he could be one to stay on the right side of. Trainer Richard Hannon is represented by both Footstepsofspring and Blue Angel here and each would have a chance. Footstepsofspring was a little disappointing in this grade last time and he may be better over the minimum trip at this stage in his career, while Blue Angel won a maiden in good style at Kempton over 7f on her debut and she may get run off her feet over this shorter trip. Hairspray is eased in grade after contesting a Group 2 race last time so she should not be dismissed lightly, but Colonel Mak made a good impression last week and we are happy to stick with him.
