Probably not a race to play too heavily in but there are reasons enough for supporting Aggravation. Networker and Sonny Parkin are two others that could show up well. The selection won the race last year and hails from a yard that continues in good form, he is 8lbs higher this time around but is only 1lb higher than when last successful and appears to be running into form. His latest start came here over seven furlongs and he caught the eye staying on strongly having been held up in rear and everything looks in place for a big run. Rain Stops Play won this race in 2006 and also merits consideration with Mick Quinn's horses running well and he ran better than the bare facts suggest at Pontefract but he's never won on ground this fast and can be taken on. Networker rattled up three wins on the trot last summer and appeared held by the handicapper thereafter but he may not be done with yet, the booking of Ryan Moore takes the eye and he's worth a second look. Another worth a second look is Sonny Parkin despite a pretty miserable performance on his reappearance; the trainer's son takes over from Josephine Bruning in the saddle this afternoon and he should benefit from the stronger handling as well as coming on for the run. He has an excellent record on the July course and may be able to prove as effective on the Rowley Mile whilst he has slipped to a winning mark and has his ideal conditions so he may just surprise but we'll side with Aggravation as he looks sure to be there or thereabouts.
