In depth

Verdict

LUNAR JET was keeping on when fourth at Chester. He should be approaching peak fitness now and conditions have come right for John Mackie’s tough handicapper. Bugle Major did well in an all-weather campaign in France over the winter but is having a first run for a new yard. Lucander looks a bigger threat as he won on soft ground at York last year over a similar trip and was later second here in the Cambirdgeshire but Al Madhar probably needs an extra quarter-mile while the luckless Jean Baptiste is 0-8 on Turf and is upped in grade.
