Torcello would have a chance on his form of two years ago but he’s finished last in both recent starts. APPARATE won over 1m2f here in 2019 and later took a heritage handicap at Ascot. He also landed the prestigious Mallard Handicap at Doncaster last year and it might be worth taking a chance that he handles the soft ground and is fit enough to do himself justice. Law Of One easily landed the odds on his handicap debut at Doncaster but he is also trying soft going for the first time and both of Untold Story’s victories have come on artificial surfaces, though he was placed on Turf on his racecourse debut. Calling The Wind will enjoy conditions and ran well enough on his reappearance at Ascot to merit consideration.
