Authority has the assistance of the useful Tom Greenall and can score again at the expense of Anuvasteel, Scottish River and Robbie Can Can. Authority was produced fit enough at Yarmouth in April when making all to hang on from Wellington Hall, and although the ground is faster here, that should not be a problem as he had earlier been successful on the Lingfield Polytrack in December. His first two career outings were both on fast ground here in fact and he coped well enough, so it is not hard to envisage him cracking out and once again dominating from start to finish. Anuvasteel needs a strong pace so if the selection does take off, that will suit Neville Callaghan's runner who should be in the shake-up on past form. Scottish River is well treated compared to three years ago, but his recent achievements on the all-weather still leaves him with a bit to do, while Robbie Can Can usually goes well in these amateur races, so is another for the short-list. Authority will be fitter for his winning return though and can make all in the finale.
