Dubai Venture may be good enough at the first time of asking to beat fellow newcomer Alfaasil, with Almanshood and Jaafi also worth noting. Dubai Venture was a promising sixth to Windsor Knot on his debut over seven furlongs here last July but has not been seen since. By Rainbow Quest out of a Generous mare, he has middle-distance stamped all over him, and so this belated step up in trip should make him a leading player if fit enough. Sir Michael Stoute's inmates always improve for the run, so even if he does not oblige today, do not give up on him. The colt still holds an entry in the King Edward VII stakes in June. Alfaasil has a Derby entry but has obviously taken time to mature, so the son of Daarshan will be one to note later in the summer, while Jaafi has plenty of stamina in his make-up on the dam's side. Almanshood has a bit of ability but has yet to score in three outings, and so we shall stick with Dubai Venture.
