Jeff Pearce's Ghufa has been running really well of late with recent wins at Haydock either side of a decent effort when a close up third behind Seventh Cavalry at Goodwood and he should be thereabouts again but is now 8lbs higher than at Haydock last time so may be in the grip of the handicapper with a better bet looking to be MY MATE MAL, who is preferred to Marju King. The last mentioned sprung a bit of a surprise when successful at Windsor last month and has to be respected but a 5lb rise for that win last time makes following up that success difficult. Rae Guest's Lastroseofsummer is becoming expensive to follow and remains a maiden, while Sheila's Castle ran her best race since landing her maiden in August here last month but this looks tougher. Dr Scargill's Silent Applause gave little sign for encouragement on his return last month and looks best watched in a race taken to go to the consistent My Mate Mal, who can go one better than when a good second here last month.
