Carnivore might not have to improve much to beat Sailor King, Our Putra and Passion Fruit in a race that should not take much winning. In truth, not that many line up in form here, and with the David Barron yard in good form, a chance is taken that Carnivore will step up on his Southwell reappearance to prevail. He was drawn widest of all in stall 13 that day, and was noted putting in some sterling late work at the finish. Successful twice last year, the ground is a bit of a worry, but other than that he could be a step ahead of the handicapper. Sailor King came off worst in a barging match at Lingfield last time, and lines up in fair form, but Our Putra is perhaps best watched on his return. Passion Fruit should be spot on now after two runs and reverts back to her best trip, so is the other for the short-list, with preference for Carnivore.
