          Verdict

          Sattam has hit form at the right time, and gets the nod over Master Robbie and Royal Storm. Although there is a large turnout for the showcase handicap, many can be ruled out, and in the belief that there is more to come, Sattam is selected to follow up his Salisbury success. That defeat of Resonate who was rated a pound higher silenced his critics, and he is fancied to once again do the business under Richard Hills. Master Robbie has topweight but deservedly so after his tremendous season, and his latest win at York last week suggests that he will be in the frame at least. However, if that is the case, then Royal Storm should finish in front of him as Amanda Perrett's charge gets a nine pound pull in the weights for a neck defeat on the Knavesmire. James Fanshawe did have Vindication entered but instead relies on Persario who does not make as much appeal, while Craiova let us down last time and may have gone off the boil. So, in a race in which only a few are on an upward curve, Sattam is the selection.
