RIPOSTE, a half-sister to Powerscourt and Kind, made her debut in the race won by Waila at Sandown and made a really bright start, staying on nicely and certain to be better for the longer trip. Just behind her in third came Auld Alliance, an Oaks entry and a half-sister to Golan and Tartan Bearer. She was also staying on strongly and there's likely to be little between the pair again with Riposte just getting the vote. Jadesnumberone made a very promising debut here in October but couldn't make the step-up to Listed company on a return visit a month later. Nellie Forbush stayed on strongly over 1m3f at Kempton and will have benefited from the experience.
