Verdict

With most of the big yards represented here, this could be quite a hot little contest. Financial Future has the best form on offer, but he has had plenty of chances and it will something of a surprise if there is nothing to beat him. Highland Games, a half-brother to 2000 Guineas and King George winner Golan, showed absolutely nothing on his debut, and can only go one way, while Lodger, who is out of an unraced mare, was another who just had the one outing as a juvenile. He can do better in time. Derby entry Sabre D'Argent is obviously one to keep an eye on, but the only filly in the field Crimson Topaz looks to have plenty on against the colts. A tentative choice is Mahasi, who holds an entry in the Dante Stakes at York. He has been showing up well on the gallops at Headquarters along side Tuning Fork, who himself holds an entry in the Dante.
