In an interesting renewal of this Group 3 contest, Declaration Of War is selected ahead of Iguazu Falls and Newly Elected. Peter Chapple-Hyam has done very well with his juveniles this season and Declaration Of War, who was second in the Group Two Superlative Stakes at Newmarket last time, having earlier run well in the Coventry Stakes, sets the benchmark for the others to aim at. Iguazu Falls won as he pleased at Lingfield last time and, much as today represents a big step up, he is not ruled out of a good run. Newly Elected has proven progressive in winning each of his races and is also not ruled out of a good run. Fitted with cheekpieces, Paveroc caught the eye with late headway in a valuable sales race at Doncaster last time, while River Proud may have disappointed at Doncaster last time, but was only beaten a whisker by Winker Watson in the July Stakes before that, and that is very good form. Finally, Yankadi did the job well on his Newmarket debut and should have plenty more to come, and Bazergan caught the eye at Doncaster last time after meeting trouble in running, although this is a much tougher race. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Declaration Of War.
