The amazing Repertory, who seems to be as good as ever at the age of 10, is taken to land this Group 3 contest, with Needwood Blade, Smokin Beau, Bahamian Pirate and Lady Dominatrix all snapping at his heels. Repertory rallied gamely to land a Listed contest at Cork last time, and that was no more than he deserved after two very good efforts in this country. He is a credit to connections and clearly loves racing, He will relish this ground and is expected to make a bold bid from the front here. Bahamian Pirate could well be the biggest danger, as Dandy Nicholls' horse has a touch of class and will certainly love this ground. However, he has needed his first outing in the last two seasons, and is probably best over an extra furlong, so we are prepared to go against him today. Needwood Blade certainly loves Newmarket, as he showed when winning the Abernant Stakes here at the Craven Meeting, but is another who would probably be best over an extra furlong. Smokin Beau was pulled up lame in that race, but is a lot better than that, and if over his problem he would pose a big threat to the selection, while Lady Dominatrix enjoyed great success last year and could get in the shake-up if fully wound up for her seasonal debut.
