Awzaan looks the pick of the three-year-olds and must be considered following an encouraging third behind Delegator at Newbury. That said there are still lingering doubts over his stamina for a mile and with cut in the ground likely he's taken on with PENITENT. After a relatively barren season, one that started promisingly with Penitent's victory in the Lincoln, William Haggas has his horses in fine form now and that strengthens the case for this proven soft-ground performer. He travelled well on his way to victory at Sandown and can be expected to have improved for that first run in over three months, while the fact he's lightly raced this term is taken as a bonus. Premio Loco is proven at this level but he's anchored by a penalty and is better on a sound surface so of more interest is Mabait, whose latest third in a competitive Group Two looks strong form. Cityscape has had his problems but remains a really talented sort over this trip and connections opted for this rather than the Cambridgeshire while Alexandros won't fail for a lack of stamina and acts well when the mud is flying.
