In depth

Verdict

Champfleurie is taken to confirm recent form with Spume and is given the nod in the finale. Steady As A Rock and The Grey Berry are also worth noting. The last named has appreciated being upped to a mile and chases the hat-trick on a fair mark. His connections think there is more to come from him and a bold run looks assured. the form of Steady As A Rock's latest start is working out well and this well-bred type should be paying his way before too long. The trip ought not to be a problem and he is one to bear in mind for a handicap in the near future. As is Spume, who represents a top yard and can be placed to good effect by Sir Michael Stoute. However, Champfleurie looks to hold the aces just for now and this daughter of Effisio can help Allan Swinbank round off the meeting on a high note for the northern yards.
