In depth

Verdict

Wolgan Valley edges preference over Fol Hollow, while Geordie Girl looks the best of the rest with experience. It would also be interesting to note support for Harlequinn Danseur, who is an expensive purchase for his yard and is one to bear in mind for future reference. Similar comments apply to When Yer Ready, who, as a half-brother to Apache Nation, looks a long term prospect. Geordie Girl would be an appropriate winner and wouldn't need to have improved much from her debut to take a hand here. Watch the betting carefully where she is concerned. Fol Hollow has finished second in three of his four starts, so has to be respected. However, all the evidence points towards Wolgan valley, whose $1,450,000 purchase price dwarves all the others when their sales values are combined. The son of Mr Greenley can be expected to be a loot sharper now he has a couple of runs under his belt and this looks a good opportunity for him get the formality of a maiden win out of the way.
