Featherlight has run well in his last two starts but another 1lb rise for his latest effort here over 1m2f last time looks harsh especially now that he returns to 1m4f and a safer bet looks to be Alnwick, who gets the vote ahead of Silca Key. The selection is less exposed than most of these and suggested that middle distances were within his compass when showing improved form when stepping up in trip on his latest start over course and distance earlier this month. A 3lb rise since then looks perfectly fair and Peter Cundell's gelding is taken to go one better here. Mark Johnston's Atlantic Coast could be of interest on his debut in this grade but he does not look to be particularly well treated, while Lapina has struggled since winning at Bath last month. Papradon lost no caste in defeat behind Revisionist here last time and has to be considered along with Western Point from the in-form Sir Mark Prescott stable. Silca Key is closely matched with Papradon on running here and should do better over today's longer trip having disappointed over a mile last time but Alnwick has solid claims and he gets the vote.
