Verdict

An open contest can be taken by SWINBROOK, who despite being 4lbs worse off with Red Cape, can confirm the form of his Pontefract win over that opponent, while Soto and Charles Parnell can go well. The selection received that weight from Red Cape when the pair met and beat Ruth Carr's gelding a little under four lengths. They race here off level weights, but Swinbrook is a resolute galloper and he should be able to uphold the form. Soto has proved very expensive to follow with just two wins from 50 starts on the level, that losing run now extended to over two years and 25 starts. Clearly he is not one to be lumping on, though he has been running well from this mark and can make the frame. Charles Parnell acts on any ground with good in the description and with the yard going well he looks likely to get competitive from this mark. Castlebury looks capable of making his presence felt, while Medici Time would be of interest if it rained, but Swinbrook gets the vote.
