Tom Dascombe's newcomer VALMINA is taken to land the opener on his debut at the expense of Al Khimiya and Huygens. The selection is nicely bred and his trainer has had a good strike rate with his debutants this season. He is sure to progress on whatever he achieves on his first outing and the market will be the best guide to his chances. Al Khimiya will pose as the biggest danger. He improved from his debut to finish an eye catching second to Jehu at Thirsk and if showing further improvement he will not be far away come the business end of the race. Huygens finished mid division on his first outing at Bath. He ran very green that day and will have benefited from the experience so any market moves should be noted. This is not the best maiden ever run at the track and we will side with Valmina who wouldn't have to be a world beater to win on his racecourse debut.
