A 5lb rise may not be enough to stop SOCIETY VENUE following up a recent Carlisle success, and he gets the vote ahead of Eijaaz and Trouble Mountain. The selection has been in consistent form just lately, finishing in the frame on three occasions this year before that recent win. He goes on any ground and is effective at this trip, and now that he has found the winning habit we will side with him to keep things that way. Eijaaz is 6lbs better off with Trouble Mountain for a quarter-length deficit when the latter won at Redcar recently, and therefore Geoff Harker's gelding appears to have every chance of reversing those placings. Both are fully effective over this trip and on fast ground, so there should be plenty of competition. Keisha Kayleigh has not been a lost cause of late, but has nonetheless strung together a number of defeats since landing this prize last year. The result has been a slipping handicap mark, which today gives her every chance if back to anything like her best. Fell Pack should be better for the return to 10f and should not be far away, but we will side with Society Venue.
