In depth

Verdict

Successful in a maiden auction here in September, ISLAND STORM failed to cope with soft ground and an extra quarter-mile subsequently at Nottingham. He looks an all-weather specialist and can get back on track today. Warne's Army is a typical Mark Johnston improver who will be a danger if he takes to Tapeta while Castlehill Retreat showed a big improvement stepped up to 7f here at the start of the month. Sky Vega clearly found an extended 5f much too short at Bath after placing over 7f but is having a first run for Tom Ward’s yard.
