Sulwaan looks likely to be a decent newcomer but they will have to go some to peg back RIGHT STEP, who is selected to take the opener. The selection ran well in a decent Ascot maiden on debut, making the frame and racing as though the step up in trip to this 7f would be a positive. Fast ground also suits, and if able to improve at all here then he will take some beating. Mark Johnston's debutants often come on plenty for the run, but he can have first-time winners and it would be no shock if Sulwaan became the latest. His pedigree is all about precocious talent from this age and up, and over this sort of trip, so watch the market for clues. Jeannie Galloway might want some rain to be seen to best effect but showed a decent piece of form in context at Doncaster last time and is going the right way, while Beat The Rush has racecourse experience here in the plus column, but will need to improve if he is to score at the second time of asking. Elmfield Giant looks more likely as a handicap proposition and Right Step can steal a march.
