The weaker of the two divisions (yes it can be done!) can go to Geezers Colours, who may have the most to fear from Reel Buddy Star and Lu's Woman, while Countrywide Comet is another to bear in mind but he has looked a tad one-paced in his previous outings and is vulnerable to anything with a turn of foot. Admittedly, tactical speed is thin on the ground from the evidence available, so Kevin Ryan's charge is still worth considering for a place (odds permitting). Lu's Woman got the hang of things late in the day on her debut at Beverley but can be expected to be a lot sharper for the run. The Newcastle draw is difficult to get to grips with these days, but she is one of the more likely candidates to weave through with a late effort. Even so, the vote goes to Geezers Colours, whose latest finishing position does not do him justice as he hated the undulating surface at Catterick. This flatter track will suit him much better and, with ground not anticipated to be a problem, a big run is expected from the son of Fraam.
