Kiwi Bay is a tentative selection in the opener; East Coast Girl, Moment's Notice and Creative are others that have hinted they can score at this level, while Montefiore would not need to be out of the ordinary to play a strong part here. Montefiore appears to be a late developing type (May foal) but is introduced at a realistic grade. His trainer is capable of having him tuned for the day, so a betting move would be interesting. Creative can race freely, so needs to learn to settle. He is gaining in experience though and, as he comes here on the back of a respectable run at Catterick, he cannot confidently be ruled out. Moment's Notice has looked as if he already needs a mile, so will be suited by a truly run race. There are a couple in here that could set things up for a closer, so he is no forlorn hope in this modest company. East Coast Girl could be good value for at least a place, as she posted a much improved effort at Chester when she was last seen out. She will be a tough nut to crack if she has strengthened up in the intervening 41 days. However, Kiwi Bay, who holds a similar profile, has caught the eye in both his previous starts. His experience of this course will stand him in good stead and, with a seventh furlong sure to suit, this looks a good platform for this son of Mujahid to launch himself into winning ways.
