In depth

Verdict

A very tricky handicap where we will side with Blue Power, with Obe Bold and Bridgewater Boys just two of many dangers. Karl Burke has his string in fine fettle and Blue Power was a shade unlucky behind He's A Rocket at Folkestone last time. He was just mounting his a challenge a furlong out when he was squeezed for room and hampered, with no trouble in running today he should go very close. Bridgewater Boys has been in terrific form on the all-weather this winter, but also put in some decent efforts on the turf last season and can make his presence felt here. Obe Bold has had a couple of recent ventures at Southwell and Wolverhampton to prepare for a turf campaign and if Alan Berry's colt can re-produce the form of his third in a Musselburgh nursery last September he will be a tough nut to crack. Of the others Charlotte Vale could go well despite top-weight, but for the winner we return to Blue Power.
