Carlton has decent form on this track and is taken to land this prize, with Weet Watchers and Dispol Peto likely to provide the most danger. The ten-year-old's last two outings have been at this north-eastern course where he finished runner-up on both occasion. Those events were over six furlongs but he has also run well over this trip in the past and could hold too many guns for these , mainly disappointing rivals. Weet Watchers could be the main challenger after running a close third behind Open Handed in a competitive Beverley seller last time. Dispol Peto couldn't manage a victory on the all-weather this winter, but showed enough on the turf last season to suggest he can take a hand in the finish here. The rest are a well exposed moderate bunch so Carlton does look to have a reasonably easy task.
