The horses with experience haven't shown any outstanding form so we will take a chance on the newcomer Royal Island, who may get the better of Lord Jim and Misty Miller. Mark Johnson's colt was a relatively cheap buy at 14 thousand guineas but is very well related being by Trans Island out of a Royal Academy mare. He will not have to be too special though to beat these rivals. The best of which could be Lord John who swerved left at the start on his last outing, but made up significant ground in the closing stages when fourth behind Dance Night at Beverley. Misty Miller started at 9/2 for his debut at Redcar but lost any chance with a slow start. Under the circumstances he did well to get within five lengths of the winner. Any market moves for the others should be heeded, but without that information we will stick with Royal Island.
