Metal Merchant has placed three times this year and has dropped a couple of pounds while Baltic Voyage beat a subsequent winner at Ripon in July, though that was over 1m2f. Mudskipper beat GOLSPIE at Salisbury but the latter had no luck in-running and is 6lb better off so may well turn the tables. Bodorgan continues to frustrate but the easier surface should be more to his liking and City Of York comes here on a hat-trick. Welleef is the least exposed making his handicap debut and has won on soft ground. He won’t be far away if his lack of experience doesn’t prove costly.
