Mark Johnston and Marcus Tregoning have shared six of the last eight runnings of this race, and the vote goes to Talayeb ahead of Mujaadel, Abolition and Ramona Chase. A tremendously competitive conditions race and the selection comes here on the back of a good fourth behind Rio De La Plata at Goodwood. He threatened to win on that occasion but just got outpointed late on; the step up a furlong in trip today should suit and with blinkers on to help concentration, he can score at a nice price. Jockey bookings suggest that Mujaadel may be the more fancied of those racing in Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum's familiar silks and he warrants respect. He has improved with every run and was found a weak contest in which to get off the mark at Lingfield. However whilst there is evidently more to come, he is held by the selection on a line through Rio De La Plata. Ramona Chase won fairly comfortably last time out but he was in receipt of plenty of weight and wasn't as impressive as his odds suggested he may be; he needs to improve again. Abolition stays well but this race is certainly tougher than his Wolverhampton win, whilst Centennial represents a trainer on a roll and with his form looking solid, this beautifully bred colt should go close. The newcomers need a check in the betting, however Talayeb is fancied to score.
