Alsadeek is fancied to land this opener ahead of Redsensor and Cotton Reel. John Dunlop's colt made a pleasing debut at Goodwood back in June when staying on for a never-nearer second. He was not given a hard time on that day and did all that was asked of him very willingly. He will probably get further in time but he shapes as if he can win over this trip as a two-year-old and is fancied to do so today. Redsensor's second run at Salisbury is his best effort to date but the form looks fairly average, whilst his follow up run at York wasn't a disaster and he can reach the frame today. Flowing Cape's debut effort at York was full of promise, especially given the fact that he was squeezed for room at a crucial point. He must be on anyone's shortlist, whilst there are plenty of interesting newcomers to be wary of. Richard Hannon's pair of newcomers need a market check, whilst Paul Cole knows how to ready a newcomer and he saddles Cotton Reel. A 48,000 guineas son of Cape Cross, he is related to several two-year-old winners and should go well. A tough race, and the betting will provide some clues, however we will stick with Alsadeek as the selection.
